What our clients say
"Me and my family have just returned from our marvelous cruise in the Mediterranean. We booked all our tours and transfers with SPB Mediterranean. We used them in the Baltic before and were delighted. They are a first class outfit. They also have a 5 star rating on TripAdvisor. That is why we decided to book them again for our shore excursions in Barcelona, Livorno and Rome. We could not be happier with all their services, simply perfect in everything."
Lisbon and Sintra Tour 8 hours
From ancient Lisbon, to Romantic Sintra, to cosmopolitan Cascais, we will take you on unforgettable journey of fairy tale palaces, luxurious landscapes, and white sandy beaches…
Lisbon highlights We’ll start our Tour visiting the downtown area, rebuilt after the earthquake of 1755, and then stop at one of the most spectacular belvederes in the city, the “Lady of the Hill”, for one of the most superb panoramic views of Lisbon. We continue into the Alfama neighborhood (ancient Moorish quarter) with its narrow streets and alleys where “Fado”, the Portuguese national music, began. Next on our Tour, we head for Chiado neighborhood, known for its chic high-end shops and restaurants, followed by the Bairro Alto district, famous for its lively nightlife. You will leave the city, and half way between Lisbon and Sintra, stop at the Queluz National Palace, a summer palace of the portuguese monarchy.
Sintra As we reach Sintra, you will be given the choice to decide on the next monument to visit, from a wide range of options: Quinta da Regaleira, Sintra National Palace, Pena Palace, Monserrate Palace, or the Moorish Castle. Of course we will help you decide, providing information on each and every one of these spectacular monuments. You will have free time in Sintra to explore the town, walk the streets and alleys, do some shopping, and taste the famous pastries of Sintra: the “Queijadas” and the “Travesseiros”. We follow our Lisbon Sintra Tour by visiting the monument previously chosen. Afterward we stop for lunch (not included in price) of your choice. We’ll give information on the different offers in the area and also make some recommendations if needed.
Cascais Bay Leaving Sintra, we drive around the mountain towards the coast, arriving at “Cabo da Roca”, the westernmost point in continental Europe followed by a visit to “Boca do Inferno” (Hell’s Mouth) and arriving in Cascais, a famous cosmopolitan beach resort area bathed by the Atlantic Ocean. On our way back to Lisbon, we pass by Estoril, famous for its casino (largest gambling room in Europe) and the “nest” of spies during the 2nd world war, where Ian Fleming got his inspiration to write the first James Bond book, Casino Royale.
Belem Driving back to Lisbon along road “Marginal” enjoying breathtaking ocean scenery, we arrive in Belem (Bethlehem), the monumental area dedicated to the great portuguese seafarers of the 15th and 16th centuries. Here we will visit the Tower of Belem (the symbol of Lisbon), the monastery of St. Jerome a masterpiece of Portuguese 16th century architecture and World Heritage Monument by UNESCO, and the monument to the Discoveries.
We will not leave the area without tasting the most famous pastry in Portugal: the “Pastel de Belem”, delicious egg custard pastry once made by the monks at the Jeronimo’s monastery.
Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Rome, Florence, Pisa and more.
